Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights, Virginia
Colonial Heights real estate offers Shepherd Stadium, a favorite destination for sports enthusiasts. The stadium was constructed in 1951 and is a 5-acre baseball stadium which seats 1,300 people. The stadium, located on the corner of Roanoke and Meridian Avenue, was named in honor of Fred Shepherd, a past mayor of Colonial Heights, VA.
Currently Shepherd Stadium is home to the Colonial Heights High School team “The Colonials,” the American Legion Post 284 “Bucs,” and host to the Optimist Club Boy’s Invitational Baseball Tournament.
Across the street you will find 2 softball fields, a Little League baseball field, tennis courts, and a playground area.
Directions: from I-95 North or South take Exit 54 (Temple Ave). Turn left onto Temple Ave and go to the second light. Turn left onto the Boulevard and go through two stoplights and then turn right at the first street past the second light, Meridian Avenue. Go to the stop sign and Shepherd Stadium will be on the right.
